Abby, you should investigate the life of Suzanne Pleshette. She kept smoking. She got cancer in both lungs. One of her lungs had to be removed. She was only 71 when she died. 71 is actually pretty good for a heavy smoker. I don't know if you can remember, but her voice was so hailed by the time she got into her fifties, she sounded almost like a computer driven drone. I am 69, I will be 70 in a couple of months. I smoked for about 44 years. I did have 'some' time off from smoking in those 44 years, but only about a year. I figure 44 years based off of 18 years old to 62 years old, the time I finally quit. But I had actually started smoking when I was 11 or 12. I really never got addicted until I was a senior in HS. So, my 44 years should probably be more like 45-46. Why am I telling you this? Because I think you should stop smoking now. I regret smoking so long. I knock on wood, no bad health issues as of yet. The younger you are when you quit, the better. I don't think you want to be walking around with your shoulders up around your ears with emphysema, gasping for air. Smoking is really hard on the human body Abby. Quit now while you have a chance to heal up with your youth intact. Quit to avoid painful regrets. Quit for your loved ones. Your political voice will be enhanced. I can tell your voice is getting very deep now.
